Chief Paul Komboi, GCL, OBE was appointed the inaugural Managing Director in March 2014. Prior to his appointment, he has held various executive positions with IPBC (now KCH) as Senior Portfolio Manager and Deputy Chief Operating Officer. Paul was the team lead and brainchild in conceptualizing the National Transmission Network (NTN) through PNG DataCo Ltd via the development of the PNG Broadband Implementation Study. Paul also held the positions of Executive Manager of the Gas Project Coordination Office and Project Implementation Officer with Asian Development Bank and Manager Telecommunications Operations with PANGTEL (now NICTA).
Paul holds a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Electrical and Communications from the University of Technology Lae and a Master of Science majoring in Engineering and Policy Analysis from the Delft University of Technology, Netherlands.
Paul has profound knowledge and experiences in various sectorial development strategies and industry reforms, policy analysis, management and operations of business units and companies involved in modelling and large-scale industrial systems utilizing economics of infrastructures analysis and management of projects, processes and resources with a commercial perspective.
He is a professional member to the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the PNG Institute of Directors. He is also an affiliated member with the PNG Institution of Engineers.
