Successful Completion of Repair Works on the Kumul Submarine Cable Network (KSCN) System 2

To Our Valued Customers and the General Public,

PNG DataCo Limited is pleased to announce the successful completion of repair works on the Kumul Submarine Cable Network (KSCN) System 2, which was damaged following the earthquake on October 7, 2025.
After several weeks of intensive restoration efforts, the subsea cable has now been fully repaired, and all services have been restored to normal operations, especially connectivity to Alotau and Popondetta. This marks the end of the disruption caused by the cable break.

Services Restored:  Full connectivity to Alotau, Popondetta, and Madang-POM Express Link

Traffic Routing: All domestic traffic is now operating on the primary KSCN links; temporary reroutes via international cables have ceased.
